Installed Battery DIC Problems?
Installed new battery (optima red) in my 97 c-5 and now my dic has what looks like house's or A'S lit all the way across and no giuages work? Open door and guages start to work ? Any body had this type of problem and have solved it and want to share the cure . Thank you very much in advance. Bob

Inside of the door jam accordian tube is a wire that can and will short to the frame. Look in Bill Curlee's electrical sticky at the top of this section. You'll find some perfect pictures of this issue. Tape the offending wire and you will probably have solved your problem. Check the codes after this noting whatever they are, then clear them all.
