i have a c-5 2004 with a remote cd player in the trunk since i had a dead battery my cd player keeps coming up with error on the radio the player makes noise like the disc are rotating but i keep on getting error is it true that i have to set up the securety code i brought the car used can i reset the securety and how can i do this any help would be great thanks john
Pages 3-86 & 3-87 of the 2004 owners manual describe the Theft-LOCK function of the Delco radio.
Your radio may not have had its lock code set – (the feature disabled so that it cannot lock). Lucky you if this is true.
Have you pulled codes from the DIC?
If the radio “locks” due to battery power interruption “LOC” will be displayed.
You may have an error that has to do with the disc changer being stuck somehow since you describe that the discs are spinning. Can you eject the discs?
I have not experienced this problem so hopefully someone will chime in with more precise help.
There is an elaborate method that can be done to unlock a locked radio, but I don’t think that is your issue. I can look it up if you need it.
This has nothing to do with your security code if LOC is not displayed on your radio. Eject the cd magizine, and inspect. Make sure all the discs are there. Re-insert. wait for the unit to cycle through the disks. That should fix your problem. If it does not, you have another issue.

Assuming your radio isn't displaying the "LOC", the typical problem with the CD Changer loading disks and so on, are people who put in the magazine, then go start their car. It will fail every time that way. Put in the magazine, then patiently wait....while it looks through the disks individually. When its completed, then you can start the car. Starting the car before that will interupt the process. Alternatively, you can start the car first, then put in the magazine and wait for it while you drive. The other thing that happens a lot is the disks are put in backwards.
