Default Changing out Sway Bars

Sorry... I should have asked this in my last post on this subject.

I am swapping out the Sway bars this weekend and my question is:

Is is better/easier to have the tires on the ground when doing this or have the wheels completely off the ground?

If the tires are on the ground, how will you get underneath the car?

I have a Kwik Lift - so I have leave the weight on the wheels if that is easier/better.

check your bolts after 200 miles or so too. Enjoy! I just installed some T1 bars and mine and love the improvement.

I did mine on the lift, no problem. Sways don't support any weight so you can simply unbolt them with the weight of the car fully on the suspension.

I just replaced mine with the wheels off and the car on jackstands and There's no reason why you can't do it up on a lift, but, I think it would be awhole lot easier with the tires off. I appreciated the fact that I could get in there to remove the nut on the bottom A-arm at the rear with the tire off. I think it would be tons easier, but, then again I'm an old geezer and easy is important.

I removed the top nuts on the rear and the bottom nuts on the front without removing the wheels and I'm a semi-geezer.

Rear

Front

But, yes, taking the wheels off would make access to the nuts easier.

A couple more questions...

• What is the best lube to use on the new insulators?

• What is the best way to get a torque wrench on the end links? Using the torx head to hold the threaded stem still and tightening the nut or trying to get an open end wrench around back between the rubber boot and the end link and torquing the nut with a socket?

best lube : I uses SylGlyde but another post suggested teflon tape around the sway bar

best way to get a torque wrench on the end links : get an open end wrench around back between the rubber boot and the end link and torquing the nut with a socket.........easier with the wheels OFF
