i had the common rocking seat??
well I have had the very common C5 seat rock and i have been meaning to fix it for the last 5 months are so since it started, well today when i shifted into 2nd it rocked back and something poped and broke, and now the power seat doesn't work anymore. I can hear the motors trying to move it, but it just seems to be locked up.
so my question is what am i looking at to get it fixed, is it fixable, or will i have to replace the whole seat, its a mod red in my z06 so finding a direct replacement will not be very easy.

Here are a couple common problems/solutions
The first step is to remove your seat and examine the tracks and motors for obvious damage

Mitchell, welcome to the C5 vette rocking seat club. I too had that problem upon the purchase of my used 99 C5. You may have also broken the plastic coupler that adjust the rear seat back. Mine broke as well. I used nylon washers and followed the forum instructions, it went great and now they even have a kit to order and swap the cheap rubber washers that become gum.. Now I seat with confidence and I'm no longer a rocking seat club member. Good luck
