Due to a lamp failure and then a Pep Boys failure to specify the correct lamp my front left assembly is toast. The Pep Boys specified bulb melted the assembly.
Help with my stupidity of trusting Pep Boys and assembly procurement and replacement required.
trying to remember if you can remove from the trim panel under the bumper - there is a bolt and spring and then you can remove the whole assembly - if my memory serves me right.
No, remove the panel in the corner under the bumper cover. Then, I think it's about 3 or 4 3/8" head screws that you remove and the light will come out.
I assume there is a burnt spot above the bulb? That likely was not their fault because all the cars with the daytime running lights on will eventually do that. Best bet is to install Depo corner lights and LED bulbs.
There is a black spot on the bulb. I ran the car for 73,000 miles and nothing ever happened to the bulb except that it burned out. It did not destroy the lamp assembly.
