My buddy has an '86 vette that has been sitting for a year and a half in a garage without running . Someone told him he should drain the gas out and put in fresh before he starts it. I say . Put some seafoam in the tank and crank it up. What do you guys think?
I say fire it up, but it probably won't run very good. Injectors have a tendency to stick after sitting that long. Usually 2 or 3 or 4 won't hit a lick until heated and cooled a few times. Probably have to keep it running by spraying gas into the intake.

I would not add seafoam to the old gas. She will fire up. As already stated, not run well. Start mixing in fresh gas soon, and keep your foot out of it until you have consumed the tank. If it were an old school ride, you'd be pulling the bowls off the carb for sure...

Just run the old gas out while babying the car -- every chance your get, add some high quality premium.
Neither of those products restore the properties of the gasoline. The only thing that will, is adding fresh gas.
Thanks for the reply. For sure that is true. I was thinking more along the lines of the injectors and fuel pump being "gummed" up from sitting so long and that some extra cleaner would help ???
Cleaner may also break things loose that you dont want in a quick fashion.I would see if it will start and run and add premium fuel as quick as I could. After a tank or two maybe some fuel additive.
