Default How do you adjust the pressure plate??

Been fighting trying to get the torque tube in, thought I was hitting the pilot bushing but no...checked and rechecked alighnment the forks on the pressure plate are to high how do I adjust it to get the forks down?
I had taken this plate in with my flywheel and got it balanced and I think they adjusted the PP all the way out.

Thanks
Rich

They are not adjustable as far as I know. Just clock it correctly with the alignment pins and tighten the mounting bolts with the disk aligned with an alignment tool. Make sure the clutch disk has the correct splines to match the input shaft. Other than that the only thing to hold it up is the alignment of the disk.

Yep, it is where it is. If you used an alignment tool then it's in the right place. If not, then you need to pull it back apart and use one. If it's not angled right then you probably need to raise the rear cradle more to get things lined up. When pulling it out the motor tilts backwards some bc of the weight of the rear cradle and everything.. after everything is out though it goes back to level. That makes it a bit difficult to get things lined up sometimes.

edit: OH, do you mean they're OUT too far.. like, hitting the slave cylinder? If so, remember the slave has to be connected or you can not compress it. i fought with mine for an entire DAY before I realized that pretty obvious fact. after you connect it you should be able to push it in just fine and it'll auto adjust.

The LUK (OEM) pressure plate is adjustable, there is a procedure for it in the factory service manual.

This is the 6th time Ive had it out, I had a vibration issue with the new setup and its been a PIA, my car had weights in the flywheel long story.......... anyhow I havnt really had a hard time getting it in the previous times. I did take a look at my old PP and the forks are indeed lower then the new one. Also I have already had the new one in and together. But due to the vibration of the new fllywheel not being balnced I pulled it and took it to have it all looked at and he said they adjusted it all the way out, not sure why because its a self adjusting unit?????? and looking at it it wasnt this high before. Well I did find the procedure for adjusting it but I have no way to compress the forks, if it were already bolted up and the slave connected then I could adjust it. Ive looked and looked and used the clutch alignment tool as always but the forks are just to far out ... Ill just drop back by the shop that did the work and have them readjust it. Man I was sure Id get this thing together this weekend. I am done doing clutches for awhile

Did you match balance the new to the old flywheel. Those weights are specific to that rotating assembly and must be transferred to the new flywheel at the same locations. There is a procedure for this in the factory service manual
