I like the second one. Just saw one last night on an FRC and it looked good. I also like the carbon fiber ones because of looks and they weigh nothing (though pricey). All of them are much bigger than the stock one. So it's just a matter of preference.
Did you take you're maf out yet? I had a heck of time and just gave up as I didn't want to wreck my stock duct. The CF duct I purchased had also had a visual flaw in it, so I just sent it back anyway. I'm going to pick another one of these ducts up at Carlisle this weekend and "try" this mod again. Let me know if anyone has suggestions on getting the maf out cleanly. Thanks!
y is takin the maf out hard? thats lame. but w/e will figure it out. the duct is gonna give more throttle response right since its gonna be letting more air in faster

There is a lip of some sort holding the maf inside the stock duct. I twisted, turned (pulled on it between my legs) and started using a screwdriver to separate it, then just gave up on it, cuz I didn't want to ruin the stock one (which is what I was doing). Maybe I should start a new thread on that...
I'm sure the duct will help a little. It's bigger.. Let me know how you do with it.
install the vararam intake duct today took about an hour. the maf came out with not that much force i just put the intake on the ground and pulled it came right out. but i did have to sand down the inside of the duct to put the maf in the vararam. other than that no probs. sounds amazing alot louder when u get on it. best 80bucks spent!
got a cel now. is it becuz i disconnected the maf sensor or cuz the computer has to take time to learn the intake?
Did you reset the ecu? I unplug the neg on my battery during the install so the ecu was ready to go once I was done. Another thing, did you place the MAF before or after the power duct? Having the maf closer to the filter can cause the lean code as well... but first thing I would try out is resetting the ECU.

no i didnt dang. its after the duct like its supossed to be on the vararam.
i read that it would be better to let the ecu learn it by just driving with it on
