I watched the video and read the manual but I am still a bit confused. Exactly what is the difference between traction control on and competition mode? Exactly how much will it let me push the car etc. What is it capable of?
Thanks,
Joe
Re: Can someone explain competition mode? (CRUZMISL)
Competition mode is ACTIVE HANDLING enabled and TRACTION CONTROL disabled. This means that you can give her hell through the corners and you know that AH has your back, and at the same time you can do some smokeshows without the worries of TC taking over :)
Re: Can someone explain competition mode? (CRUZMISL)
MY understanding of "competition driving" mode is:
1) Active Handling: On
2) Traction Control: Off
Soooo... that means I can do big, smoky burnouts... but, God willing, the active handling will catch me when it starts to get squirrely and keep me from sliding off the road.
Of course, nothing can quite overcome the laws of physics, but I'm sure the C6 team is working on it.

I believe competition mode negates traction control but allows for the yaw sensors and whatnot to keep you from spinning out to see in a flat spin. You can push the car but it still offers you some modicum of protection...if that is too much, you can turn it off completely...
Re: Can someone explain competition mode? (BadAttitude)
I've been experimenting with mine in the differnet modes by intentionally inducing a power oversteer in a very slow speed 135 degree turn. With TC on, the spin is stopped and the engine power is totally cut to idle level. You would not want TC enables in an autocross because you would be electronically bogged for a couple seconds. This is with a 2k. I believe in 2k+1, Corvette reduced the amount of power reduction. With TC off, your just like any other car. In Competion Mode, the brakes will activate correcting a spin or plough, but you still have power. Now, what I found, with a power induced oversteer,
you can overpower the one brake that is supposed to correct the spin, leaving you pretty much left with the laws of physics.
