Headlights not working on manual mode...Help!

Headlights not working on manual mode...Help!
My headlights will open automatically at dusk when it gets dark and then closes when it is light outside. If I try to open them manually from the steering column, they will not open. The fog lights and parking lights will work manually. Any thoughts on what may be wrong and how to fix?

probably the multifunction switch. these are a common point of failure and the cause of intermittent or non-functional lights all over the car. you can replace it or repair it. there's a thread out there about taking it apart and fixing it. that post showed a worn out contact being the problem, he just bent it back closer and all was good
other common problems are corrosion on the contacts and melted plastic parts inside. looks like it was built with very little margin for error in the amount of heat generated.
the entire electrical load for the headlights passes through the switch, there's no relay down stream. not a good design in my opinion.
