Parking light problem- happened to anyone else?

Parking light problem- happened to anyone else?
I did a search but couldn't find any information. My brother has a 98 C5. When the parking lights are turned on, the headlights come on too. Does anybody know what is causing this? Thanks guys

I believe the infamous headlight gear is fine but I haven't checked it. I say that because the headlights go up and down okay. The problem is, the headlights turn on when ONLY the parking lights are suppose to be on. So, you can't cruise around with just your parking lights on at near dusk. I'd like to fix the problem instead of ignore it so it won't turn into a larger, more serious problem.

So the headlights are coming on when they aren't supposed to. Is the twighlight sentinel turned on or off? Do the headlamps come up or are they on when they are down? First guess is that you are having a headlamp switch problem and yes, they do go bad.
