Never touched my ac and it rocks. I need to hook up my gauges and write down the optimal pressures its at just in case I ever need to recharge
Learn from my experience.

I would refrain from hooking up the AC gauges if the AC is functioning as well as you stated.

I’ve been doing my own AC repair since high school (back when AC was first invented – well it seems like that long ago).

The 1974 Corvette that I purchased in 1975 (I still own it) is equipped with AC.

TWENTY-FIVE years later, around 1999, I decided it was a good idea to hookup my manifold gauge set “just to verify the pressures”. The AC was still working perfectly fine from the factory after 25-years – nice and cold.

Well…… all was fine until I removed the hoses from the Schrader valves. The low side Schrader valve would not re-seal. Lost the complete charge. Installing a new valve didn’t help, and installing a special outer cap didn’t help either (slow leak).

Had to replace the compressor hose assembly. I'm Still pissed off about it.
