I just installed new ceramic pads and they are grinding when you come to a stop. If you hit the pedal lightly it doesn't grind it's just when you hit it a little hard.
I just took it back apart and checked everything. Any ideas?
I ran ceramic pads for about 1k miles. I took them back out at the first opportunity. I hated everything about them - the sound, the feel and the braking. I run HPS Plus now and they're perfect and low dust.
I agree, you need to bed in new pads. Do about 10-20 stops from 30 mph to 5 mph (don't completely stop because you don't want to transfer brake pad material in one spot), then do at least 15 minute cruise to let them cool.
I took off my GM Ceramics early (ran them for 63,235 miles), they caused pulsating brakes for me. After putting on HAWK HPS pads, I realized how poor stopping they were.

Bedded the pads, noise stopped. The reason I was asking is the last time I put ceramic pads on I didn't remember them grinding. They might have but I just don't remember it happeneing.
