The service manuals don't require much at the 15K mile scheduled maintenance: only inspect the air filter & replace if necessary.
But there are a bunch of yearly, twice a year and periodic checks that the dealer may be hitting you up on:
There are the 2x a year checks:
1. Restraint system check
2. wiper blade check
3. weatherstrip lube
4. transmission check
and 1x a year checks:
1. key lock cylinder lube
2. body lube
3. starter switch test
4. A4 shift lock control system check
5 ignition transmission lock check
6. parking brake/Park mechancism check
7. underbody flushing
and periodic inspections checks (no time specified)
1. steering & suspension inspection
2. tire & wheel inspection
3. exhaust sytem insptection
4. engine cooling system inspection
5. rear axle lube level/service
6. brake system inspection
As you can see some of these are visuals inspections, fluid level checks, body lubrications, etc. that you can do yourself. Others involve getting under the car for visuals/servicing.:D
IMHO you would be well served to get a list from the dealer on what he plans to perform. For $300 I think an oil change should be included (should run about $75 if done separately by the dealer).
