how much hp gains would i get with just a high flow air duct intake bridge ? Is 5 hp to 10 hp realistic ? And is this really worth it with out the filter ? Thnks
Most people will tell you none...and I would agree with them. It doesn't matter how big of an air bridge you run if you still have the same restrictive factory opening on the airbox. Not sure what your budget is, but a true CAI is the way to go.
If your looking to spend as little as possible, and you don't have a C5Z, I would try to find C5Z airbox lid in the classified section or on ebay. That would give you the realistic 5-10hp you're looking for.
Also, you can search for the "zip-tie mod", which is practically free...and again give you the 5-10hp you're lookin for.

Exactly with out the aftermarket filter, now let me ask you, can i install an aftermarket filter to the bridge ???
Manny
Yes, you can go with an aftermarket filter such as the "Blackwing", which bolts in place of your stock air box, but the stock bridge can be retained as well as the factory position of the MAF sensor. The "Blackwing" filter can be spendy though...but you may find one for sale in the classified section.
As I suggested earlier though, you can use the zip-tie mod to turn your factory airbox into an open element filtration box...and you can just grab an off the shelf K&N factory replacement filter if you want to take it one step further.
For me, I run a Callaway Honker because it's a true cold air intake (CAI)that takes air in from under the car in front of the radiator. The Honker and the Vararam are the two best CAI's made for these cars.
I also have the Honker. The advantage to it is that there is no separate air bridge, the entire air intake is one smooth flowing piece. The design of it, being a true cold air intake, will also not cause problems driving in rain because it won't force water into the intake. Driving to and from Carlisle this year I had the pleasure of driving in quite a bit of heavy rain and had absolutely no problems doing so. If it's in your budget, it is the way to go. BTW, I don't know why you'd want to install a new air bridge with the stock air filter but I have to believe it could actually be a negative performance wise. At the least it would give no more than zero improvement if not actually subtract.
