Default CD Changer install help

I have the cd changer and harness to install in my 98 vert. I followed the information that has been shared here about locating the two plugs in the passengers footwell but I was only able to find the most obvious plug. I removed everything including the fuse box panel and could not find the other plug. It does appear that the previous owner may have had an aftermarket unit in and I am wondering if that plug had to be used for the aftermarket unit. If so how do I connect the changer up now??????
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, this is one of the threads that I used initially for the install but it is the "missing"/"hard" to locate wire that is of concern at this point. The changer is installed and the one plug under the dash is connected but the other wire from the harness could not be found after both myself and a buddy spent several hours looking under the dash. I guess what I'm looking for is some guidance in making the final connection to the radio without that part of the harness.

I don't know if this means anything or not, but it is in the C5 Service Manual.
