Hey folks, what is really involved in changing the torgue converter ? Can it be done on jackstands ? What has to be dropped down ? What else should be changed ? I do plan on installing a transmission cooler, also. Any help would be appreciated ? Thanks.
Thanks Mike, and I see what you did changing the gears, but, just the torque converter...I know you changed yours, remember reading the article, but, can't find it now and don't remember. Could a regular good transmission shop do this without many problems ?
You can do it on jackstands as long as you provide enough clearance to pull the rear crossmember out the back. Also, you can pull the TC and tranny/diff without pulling the torque tube as I did.
