Odd headlight problem
New c5 owner here. Recently, sometimes my headlights wont open when I turn the switch. If I turn the switch off and turn it right back on, they open. They will close on the first try. Seems strange to me.

There are only three components in the headlamp system. The motors, headlamp switch and the headlamp controller. Most of the time, the headlamp switch is the problem. You can try to fix it as the contacts need to be cleaned inside. You can also replace it fairly easily and no, it doesn't require removing the steering wheel to accomplish. If you turn on the switch manually and the headlamps come on, but don't rise, can be but not necessarily, the headlamp controller. If they sometimes come up with the switch and other times they don't, its probably the switch. If they are partially coming up or similar partial problems, its probably the gear inside the motor. Now, one thing to throw into the mix is if you have the twilight sentinel. If so, do you have anything covering the sensors on the top center of the dash pad? Its happened before, which is why I mention it.
