Default Will any Vette Fob work???

I need to get a new key fob and I have a 98 vert, which uses the passive switch on the fob. I could careless about the passive feature and new there are about 100.00 bucks. The non passive fob for the 00-04 are less then half that price. Can I program one of these lesser expensive fobs to work with my 98 vert? Thanks.

Good news, yes you can. Bad news, you must change your receiver (radio for fobs/TPMSs) and tire pressure sensors. Changing the receiver entails some wiring changes also.

Not cost effective for a defective key fob, but some do it for the TPMSs, old ones cost $90 a piece, new ones $40.

You can use a 2000 C5 fob, a little cheaper and it does not have the passive feature. 2001-2004 fobs are NOT compatable.

You would be best off getting one for the 1998 even though they cost more. I think 97-99 were the same, 00 different, and 01-04 different again.
