Default Ventilation System

Hello Forum members:

I have a real bummer of a situation: my 2002 C5 has been in storage this summer and a mouse has taken up residence in the ventilation system - namely in the motor fan assembly. I want to know how big a nighmare I can anticipate accessing the fan/motor. Is it a job that a weekend mechanic could takle or is it something better left to a pro? How many hours involved?

Thanks!

I'm interested too, is there a filter in there to change?

Blower Motor Replacement
Removal Procedure

Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.

Disconnect the blower motor cooling tube from the HVAC module.
Remove the blower motor retaining screws.
Remove the blower motor from the HVAC module.
Installation Procedure

Install the blower motor to the HVAC module.

Notice
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Install the blower motor retaining screws. Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.7 N·m (15 lb in).

Connect the blower motor cooling tube to the HVAC module.
