I'm having a bit of an issue with my tranny. I'm not a manual transmission expert by any means, but I'm learning. I just picked my my SW Z06 and when under any quickness at all, shifting to 2nd is a bit of a pain.
Unless I am extremely ginger with the throttle from 1st to 2nd and wait for the RPMs to get back to idle, it grinds 2nd.
I'm sure it's something simple and I'm going to look like an idiot but any help would be appreciated.
I'm not a newbie to manuals but my past 2 cars have been automatic so I'm out of practice perhaps. It still seems like there is something amiss.

Your first thought is most likely correct, unfortunately. 2nd gear is the most common for synchro problems. If your shifter alignment is OK it's probably a bad 2nd gear synchro. Good luck.
It's an 01. Car shifts fine other than that, first is a little difficult to get into sometimes, and then 2nd grinds most anytime you're shifting quick. from 1st to 2nd I have to let the RPMs go back to idle to get it into 2nd without grinding.
