Default Temp control doesn't.... (A/C)

2 days ago,I went to turn off the A/C (Dual Zone),and it wouldn't shut off.
Pulled over, shut the car off (A/C does go off with the key),restarted ,and the A/C was off,so of course I turned it right back on-then it wouldn't turn off again,AND the set temp was now 73,and won't adjust-stuck at 73.
So,I fiddled with the controls for awhile, and discovered that if I hold the "off" button down, and turn the drivers temp **** at the same time, the A/C shuts off.
And it actually works(as long as I'm ok with 73 degrees) fine-cold air out of all vents, pass. side temp adjusts, defrosters work, all is good,EXCEPT for the new procedure I have to follow to turn it off.

Any suggestions on what might be causing this,or what to check would be appreciated .

Actually,on the bright side, the temp control didn't decide to stick on 90,so I've got that going for me.

That's a new one on me! Try resetting it and any codes through the DIC and see if that helps... Other then that, your HVAC may have taken a permanant vacation as it sounds like it's isolated to the HVAC unit itself.

Thanks, tstar, but I did the DIC thing first-no joy.

I'll tear into it this weekend & find out what's going on-must be something that's never happened to anyone else before, judging by the flood of suggestions....

OK let me know because I have some spare parts here from LED Mods, I could send a power board to see if that clears it up...

Thanks tstar,I appreciate that-I'm hoping its a loose connection or something, since everything works except the temp adjustment ,and the "off" button.
While I've got the board out,I'm going to do the "dim display fix",and check for any other bad solder joints,so maybe a miracle will happen, and it'll actually work right when I get done....

or not.

I'll let you know

Pulled the Dual Zone controller out and apart this morning, checked all the connections, and resoldered all the display resistors (it's nice and bright now-that's a sweet fix!) ,but still no temp control,or on-off action from the control.(and no codes on the DIC,but there never was)
So,for now,I'm just going to use the memory buttons to turn it on and off,and leave it on "auto".
I'm the only driver,so the memory buttons are both set to the same thing,except#2 button turns the A/C off,#1 turns it on.

Not perfect, but it actually works just fine that way.
So,now that I can actually SEE the display,I don't have to, because it's on "auto" all the time.

Not that big of a deal-I'm cool when it's hot,and warm when it's cold, and that's really what it's about anyway.....
