Default 160º Thermo Fan Settings?

Can someone tell me what the fan temp settings should be for a 160º thermostat?

Thanks

Try contacting ECS for the info. When Doug tuned my car it was set up for a 160 thermostrat. Runs great, not too cool and never too hot either.

Set the first one around 180 and the second one in the 190's.

You want to make sure you don't set the turn off point lower than that of what your normal moving temps hang at.

For example, I find mine (while moving), normally runs about 176°. If I used the above settings, keeping the fan running until 175 wouldn't work too well, the fans may not shut off, even while moving

Someone with a more efficient radiator may find their cruising temps are a lot lower, and could use those settings with good results. Personally, I wouldn't WANT it running much below 175, so I've not seen the need yet for an aftermarket radiator.

I have mine set as follows:

Fan1 on at 195, off at 185
Fan2 on at 205, off at 196

In actual usage, I've yet to see the temp ever exceed 200, so the high speed Fan2 setting isn't ever being used.

My 160-t-stat has never gone above 198, nor lower than 180, and cruising on the interstates, around 80mph, during these hot Mississippi months, I usually level around 183-85.

Sounds like it's really a 180 stat.

What degree thermostat are you running?

These fan settings are what Hypertech recommends when using a 180 degree thermostat.

Hypertech 160.

Like I said, mine normally sits right at 176 when moving, so running the fans to a value lower than that would merely mean they'd continue running while moving. Not desirable.

I probably could set them a little lower, but these settings have worked fine for me the past few years, I don't really see any need to change them now. Keeping it between 175 and 195 at all times...nothing wrong with that.
