Dimming headlights when in environmental auto mode
I have noticed while driving at night usually with the heat and air in auto mode that the headlights will dim for just a second and then go back to normal. This happens ever so often. Could the a/c compressor kicking in cause this and has anyone else say this problem and is there a fix? This is on our 00 vert.

I have experience this as well, ever since I've owned the car. It seems as though from time to time there just isn't enough juice. I haven't worried about it, but it does bother me. I'll be interested to see other posts on the subject. :yesnod:
Re: Dimming headlights when in environmental auto mode (kraff)
This happens to me also and I've been running with the Alt. gauge up on the DIC. There doesn't seem to be a correlation with the dimming and a drop in volts.

happens to me as well--if I'm rolling the windows up or down or turning the air on or off, adjusting the seat and such. never had a problem with the battery running down on me though.
Re: Dimming headlights when in environmental auto mode (jetmech)
Happened with me also - I think the alternator may be a little undercapacity for our bells and whistles. I switched to the Optima Yellow because of its reserve deep cycle capacity and the dimming issue is a little bit better - definitely not as annoying.

Nice to know other people are seeing this. Has anyone talked to a dealer about the problem? Does GM still have a Corvette hotline? The dealers here in my area seem to be a bunch of bumbling, stumbling, non-caring individuals.
