Has anyone put Sparco or Corbeau seats in their C5? Is there an easy way to mount the seats to the factory slides? My factory Z06 seats suck. I have a crossbar in and don't really like the idea of wrapping around the stock seat. Any advice and or pictures would be greatly appreciated. :flag
It appears that Hardbar makes rails for Sparco "Evo" seats (2 or 3 fixed-back models), but they seem to be the only ones in the game. The short answer is that you can not use your stock rails, but that you can get a Sparco in there.
Incidentally, the problem with fitting most other seats in the C5 is the WIDTH of the seats. I found that interesting (and frustrating).

PS -- I have a BK bar and 6-point harnesses in my Z. No problems with wrapping the belts around the sides...
I contacted Corbeau recently to inquire about a Racing seat for the C5. At this time they dont have one for it... they are working on it and will let us know when something is available.

Re: Race Seats Install in C5???? (99 Corvette)
JIm Miller did his seats with EVO2's and left all the power adjustments in place. It cost some big dough. If you want I'll tell you who did it. I think it was 2800 for two seats and installation.
Hey vetterdstr,
I have pic's and info on my Sparco EVO2's.
I did the wright up on the other forum.
Not hard to do but you will lose the use of the stock seat belts.
And using a 5 point harness for daily driving is a pain.
But the seats are comfortable, but there not adjustible!

Sparco EVO2's seats are for people 200 lbs and larger.
You will have to remove the stock seat belts to get the larger seat in.
I have the Hardbar mounts and you have to mount the brackets on the outsides of the base to get the larger seat to fit!
You can see in the picture below that the bracket would hit the lower stock seat belt connection. I have unbolted it and set it to the side. The airbags will not work when the stock seat is removed. It will how ever work if you reinstall the stock seat. I'm sure you could by pass it with a jumper of some kind if you really wanted to.

Anytime Steve,
Sparco EVO2's are the largest aftermarket seats you can put into a C5. The rest are to wide for the space available.
The seats are comfortable, but you will need to position them to fit you. This is probably the hardest part of the job. I had my seat in and out about 30 times before it was right. The passanger seat was easy, I just put it in the same position as the driver.
Thanks for all of the help. A while back I called Doug Rippie and one of the guys there said they make a bracket that allows the seat to work with the power slide. I've got an email in to them now. If that doesn't work the Hardbar set up looks like it is a quality piece. I don't really like the loss of the air bag system.
