A few months ago the Passenger side window stopped working. I here a click noise when I press the up / down buttons on both door handles, pulled the switch it seems to be ok, is this a sign of a bad regulator, motor or some basic need of track lubing?
I have the big book set of 3 manuals for the car I’m still trying to find a good diagram showing every screw that holds down the door panel and how to take it off with out breaking something and the window motor diagnostics, if anyone has a good thread showing how to take a C5 door off I would like to see it. Also if they know of a window regulator and or motor replacement thread.
I and many other vette owners have fixed this problem with percusive maintenance. Serious. Open the door, hold the button down, take your fist and bash the lower, center of the door. It took ~8 whacks for mine to start working. Lack of use seems to create a "dead spot" in the motor.
Your motor/regulator assembly is bad. The Fonzi method described in this thread (and many others) may free up the motor temporarily, but it is not a "fix"! Owners who have used this method successfully, and I'm one of them, will inevitably have to replace the assembly. Your shop manual has good, easy to follow procedures for doing this.

I do agree that this is not a "fix". However, mine has continued to work for the last 3 years.
