Welcome!
Do you have any long time performance goals? I wouldn't start throwing time and money at your baby until you have some goals outlined. I'm going through the same research phase right now so I know the drill.
I know that I'm going the forced induction route so a $500 Callaway Honker intake is not on my list anymore. I could safely ADD some longtube hedders and a tune but I'll probably just save the money and get a complete package that works together.
I always have money burning a whole in my pocket. I'll probably look at other mods like a short throw shifter to get me through until I can do the big picture.
Good luck and have fun

Congrats & welcome... be very careful because when the mod bug bites, it never ends!! I started with some minor interior mods, then rims & tires, brakes, suspension upgrades, intake & headers and now going full out with a Supercharger....
Just got an 03 a little more than a week ago. I like the recommendation about listing goals. I think I'm going to do a Vararam right off the bat. Then a Corsa exhaust in a year. Or maybe LT headers.
I hadn't thought about a short-throw shifter. How much $$ and what is the grin factor with a short throw? I'm not going to drag or autocross the car but want to have fun within the limits that the law allows.

Oh man where to start, if you ask me I would get a K&N FIPK intake if you choose this route. I'm not a big fan of the Vararam the fitment is crappy and filter element is cheap even with the K&N filter element in it. Is your C5 and auto or manual? If a manual do yourself a favor and get yourself a nice aftermarket shifter and shift skip eliminator

Congrats on the purchase, and glad to have another member of the Corvette Forum.
Carl,
Glad to have another member of the Corvette Forum.
There are many different options to gain better performance. It all depends on your budget and what goals you have, as other members have mentioned.
There are a few "bolt-on" parts including an air intake system, throttle body, and full exhaust including headers that will get you a few ponies to the rear wheels but not completely break the bank.
