Default Electrical problems?

I have a 1999 C5 that I just purchased a few months ago. First of all I LOVE the car. I have always wanted one and finally the dream has come true. HOWEVER, there are a few "idiosyncrasies" that I have noticed and I'm hoping someone can help me with. First, occasionally (20% of the time) the moment I put on my directional lights (either right or left) my cruise control shuts off (cruise disengage). The car seems to slow down a little also when it disengages more so than if you shut the cruise off manually. It also shuts off when you hit bumps sometimes and won't turn back on unless you put your foot under the brake pedal and lift up on it. The second problem I have is I get the "charging system fault" message sometimes (3 times total) and when I brought it in to a chevy dealer they couldn't find anything wrong with it (or the directional light/cruise problem). Any ideas?

Oh and another thing. I have an aftermarket flip open DVD player that was installed before I bought the car with satellite radio which is cool but again OCCASIONALLY when I hit bumps you can hear popping sounds coming from the speakers and since I have a brick driveway it sounds like pop corn popping all the time.

Post your codes. For the aftermarket stereo...who knows the quality of installation. You're going to have to take it out of there, and investigate the wiring.

I would look at the multi-function stalk for the turn signal/cruise. That seems to be the connecting part

Default codes

My codes are
58SDM U1000H & U1016H
AO-DCM U1016H & U1096H
A1-RDCM U1016H & U1096H
BO-RFA U1096H, U1064H & U1016H

The previous owner left the receipt for the head unit installation so I will try taking it back there and having them look at it.

Does anyone know how the brake pedal is connected to the cruise control system? Is there a switch under the pedal is it possible that there is too little or too much play in the pedal and when I hit a bump the cruise shuts off because it is too sensitive?

Next time I take the car in I will have them check out the turn signal stalk! Thanks for the ideas.
