Speeddemon heads/cam swap, first pics!!
I´m really happy that I haven´t found any signs of NOS damage, yet.
The heads gaskets looked great and the pistons, too.
Only the exhaust Valves look like they got a little heat.
Don´t know from what :blueangel: :blueangel:
I would say for the big shot of NOS 225 shot I used and the high speed run
where I sprayed a whole bottle of NOS into my engine, that Exhaust Valves could have looked worse.
The NGK`s look perfect, too and are all still gapped at .35!!
Conclusion: NO damage on my engine parts with 225 NOS for now!! :D
AND: I will do the 225 shot on top of the heads as soon as I found a way to upgrade my fuel system.
I should be able to get into the 9`s easy and would really love to have a
9 second heads/cam car.
Also I must say, the Speed Demon heads are really well ported, my mechanic
told me that 3 times!!!
Here are some pics:
Stock Valves.......you see the exhaust valves got some heat!!

The new Valves........kind of big :) and a really perfect porting job!!!

Stock heads gasket, looking great, no damage from NOS

The new FEL-PRO heads Gaskets that will be hold to the engine
with ASP heads studs!!

Stock heads intake runners

The ported heads intake runners of the Speed Demon heads.
(I have the stock intake runners on PICS later, so you see how great these are
ported, but not too much, to keep the torque alive in low rpm`s, like I wanted
it)

The OVATE Valve springs of the new heads

The pistons looking great!!

A look in my engine bay

Next is caminstall, Cloyes timing chain set (I´m happy that I got it, as the stock chain looks very tiny against the Cloyes), pulleys, then install the heads,
LS6 intake, #30 Injectors and programmed PCM.
Feel free to ask, if you have a question!!
I´ll post the updates in new TOPICS and link you to it from here, also.

Sorry no pic of both together, but the Cloyes links are nearly double as thick as the links of the stock chain!!
I´l try to get a pic.

And yes, I really hope to break in the nines!!!! Should be no problem.
I only will take my time to do it perfect, so all works OK, especially on NOS!!
Michael
I'm glad to see it's all comming together for you. I'm sure you will get into the 9s. When you are ready for some more tires, you might want to try the new Hossier 28 inch Slicks. I think you will have enough power to run them. Do you have a custom programing for this set up? Good Luck.
My new engine is in and running.
