I'll be replacing the stock intake on my '01 with a Vortex intake next weekend and am starting to think about mod #2.
What will provide the most bang for the buck after the intake mod? I'm not ready to do major work i.e. head/cam (due to cost) at this time.
I could:
1. Go with headers, shorty or LT. BTW, it's my understanding that changing to a cat back exhaust will produce absolutely zero performance improvement over the stock system, so that's out.
2. Go with Crane 1.8 roller rockers. Has anyone done this? What kind of increase did it provide? Any problems with it? This is the way I'm leaning at the moment.
3. Pick up a set second set of heads and the Holley LS1 manifold. Polish the combustion chambers and do mild de-horning of the ports, port match to the manifold myself.
