Has anyone here removed there catalytic converters? If so what kind of O2 sensor simulators were used? How did it affect the sound and performance?

Mine got clogged after a few thousand miles of running with bad valve seals pushing oil into the exhaust ..... To confirm they were clogged we gutted them .... I picked up like 3 hp a nasty smell everywhere I go and not much difference in sound. Net is I would not do this on purpose just not worth it.

Thanks for the input, I was planning on installing headers and I thought the cats would be the bottleneck in the exhaust system, which is why I asked about removing them.

Not a bottle neck on these cars... we have good flowing cats out of the box... If there is some good higher flow ones on the market but again marginal improvements if any.

you can get catted or uncatted x-pipes when you do the headers. if you plan on getting a tune then you dont need sims, they can just edit the tune so the aft o2 sensors are not even looked at. they are only used for emissions, the forward ones are the ones you really need.

i went with a catted x-pipe just so it would be easier to get it inspected in ny
