parking brake problem
Ok i changed the rear brakes on my 02 Corvette but the clamp that holds the parking brake down came off do'es anyone know how to position it back so it will hold it down a picture or something would be really nice

tried that. the clamp Im talking about looks like a V and it helps in holding the hole assembly down if I can just find a picture I could get it figured out

The link did not work. Are you talking about the parking brake retaining spring? That part is inside the hub with the parking brake. If that is the part, there are two clips it sits into. The open end faces the parking brake adjuster.

Ya, its kind of a bear. I don't have anyone to look over my shoulder and show what the best way is either. What I did last time is to use a zip tie from one of the lugs to hold the point of the V up (with the rest of the spring attached to the normal points) so I can reposition the parking brake. Then once it is on the actuators for the brake you can move it around some and the V back inside the ring. Then cut the zip tie and remove it. Its hard to explain and I don't have any photos sorry.

Use a SPRING HOOK thru the hole on the hub
I played with that spring for a day. Could get one side on but when I tried to slip the other side over the area that it catches in couldn't get it on without the other side coming out if the retainer. Finally purchased some spring hooks at Harbour Freight (a spring hook is a long thin piece of metal kinda like a chrochet hook but with a larger bent hook on the end). I took me about 20 minutes but I finally got the sucker to go over the retaining piece of metal that it rests in.
