Default cat back or no cat back?

Will my z06 gain any horsepower from removing the catback exhaust and would it be bad for the engine?

One of the guys here put cut-outs on his Z06 and got only 12hp. Given that without an exhaust (running cutouts), there was only a 12hp gain, any aftermarket exhaust will likely only net you a couple more hp...Generally people swap exhausts on C5's just for improving the sound...

I believe that Borla make a set of pipes that replace the mufflers...They're pretty cheap...

Are you planning on putting straight pipes in instead, or just taking the system off?

You mean having nothing beyond the H pipe? That would vent the gases to your underbody, not a great idea!

Every time you stop at an intersection, exhaust gases will enter your cabin. Plus you don't want to drive around with no tips...(unless you put a diffuser into the empty space and go with sidepipes...)
Loudmouth will be great
