Groaning steering column

Groaning steering column
My steering column makes a groaning sound at slow speeds(like when turning into a parking space.) Has anyone else heard there steering column groan/what can be done to quiet it? Thanks in advance,Ben.

I had the same problem, took it to my dealer, and they fixed it. Not sure what they did...........but it was minor. I can ask them Monday.

Hi: If I recall, the noise comes from a bearing down where the column goes through the firewall. The bearing dries out over time and needs to be lubed up. I know there have been threads before on this subject. You might try a search to see what you can find. My car did it for a while and then stopped before I was going to try to fix it. That was a year or so ago and so far it has not made the noise again. Good luck :D :D :D
