Last month I bought a 2003 coupe with 8k miles on it. The stock engine has been brought up to C5 Z06 specks, heads and cam. Does this make it an LS6?:o

There are other differences between the LS1 and LS6. Probably the biggest difference is inside the block milling. In addition there are different pistons, valves and even ECU mapping.
It doesn t take very many mods to a LS1 to make LS6 HP.(or alot more) But, like stated b4, its not technically a LS6.(Even with LS6 heads, camshaft and tune etc.)
I thought all LS1 vettes 2002-2004 had LS6 blocks and intakes, the only differences being the heads and cam? Right or wrong? Obviously all the ecu stuff would have a different tune but that can easily be changed. Correct me if Im wrong guys, not sure.

That's what I was told too. The changes made to my engine were factory certified, making it a Z06 engine. Is a C5 Z06 an LS6 or not?
