Default Introduction and a question

Hi ya'll!
I finally have the income to afford a Corvette, I'm going to be purchasing on within the next few weeks. Most likely it will not be a Z06. I've been a motor head and a speed freak my entire life (thanks dad!) I know the obvious difference between a Z06 and all the rest, my question is: Is the z06 motor the same heads and just a different intake and tuning or different heads as well. The block is still a LS1 right? Sorry for my ignorance, I've only had experience with 1st gen SB's. If there is another thread about this I couldn't find it, point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Hello everyone! My name is Nicole and I've been reading for a while and finally need to ask for some help. I have an 04 C5 (the love of my life), and I'm having some issues...1st the *** end of the car feels really loose, my "active handling" light is constantly flashing on my DIC, and every now and then the rear end will feel like it just runs away from me, like it's slipping....2nd, my "ABS" light will come on briefly as well. I have read the threads on similiar issues but not sure if those folks had the really loose back end problem, or even if it matters. I try to look up and read as much as I can on my own and do some work on my car on my own with my dad, but I don't know where to start with this...could my tie rods or cv joints be the problem? Any advice would be appreciated...thanks yall.

ATCNOOBIE, there is a substantial difference between the LS-1 and the LS-6 in the ZO-6. The LS-1 can easily be made to outperform the stock LS-6 with a head and cam change and many here have done that. If you do a search you should get a lot of specific info on the differences.

Nicole, I recommend you start a new thread and ask your question, you'll likely get a much better response to your questions. One thing I would recommend is to also post the tire sizes you currently have on your car (front & rear) when you do that. If the rear tires are not at least a half inch taller than the fronts, the traction control can cause the symptoms you have described.

Good luck... GUSTO

Yeah, It seems as soon as I ask the question I find the answer!...ha ha ha Like I said I've only been dealing with 1st gens and am just now starting the process of learning this new modern technology. One thing I have unearthed in some reading is a possible valve spring issue? It seems that most of the problems come with bigger cams and stock springs. Any one having this problem?

Tires over four years old ? If so, try two new rears.
