4A transmission fulid level

4A transmission fulid level
How do you check fluid level on an 4A transmission? I found a small puddle of what apears to be transmission fulid on the floor and the power steering unit is full.

You must get it up in air and level, at temp, engine running and remove the check/fill plug. Engine running is essential or you will have a large puddle. Where was the puddle? The tranny is a long ways from the power steering unit.
