My car is a nice weather car. I had nittos on my ws6 and loved them. Nittos can be had in a 305/35/18 and the BFG's can be had in a 315. Wider is better but how much less will the BFG's last than the nittos? Also, I still want to be semi safe if I get stuck in the rain. I know nittos are ok in the rain but how are the BFG's? Will be a mostly street car with maybe a few trips to the track a year. Let me know guys.

I can get about 10,000 miles out of a set of Nittos. Personaly I don't run the BFG's, but a couple of friends of mines were lucky to get 3,000 out of their BFG's. Eventualy they gave up and went to Nitto's. They said they like the traction a bit more with the BFG's, but it was too short a life span for a street car.
As far as rain I couldn't tell you. It doesn't rain much here. If it looks overcast you can just leave you're hotrod at home and take the truck.

The BFG's will definitely provide you with better traction then the Nitto's. The Nitto's will last you longer (10-15k)...the BFG's 7k if you're lucky. You don't want to get caught in the rain with BFG's. The Nitto's will do ok in the rain, as long as you keep in mind you're driving on DR's.
the bfgs are a "buy a new set every oil change or 3,000 miles" set of tires. they are absolutely horrendous in the rain. i was merging with traffic one time on an entrance ramp to a hwy, already in 5th gear (my od gear) turned around to make sure my blind spot was clear, and by the time i turned back around i was sideways.. barely accelerating in 5th gear.. there were other episodes as well, but that was the most dangerous
the nittos, to me hooked almost as good when hot, lasted 20K miles, did fine in the rain as long as you didnt try and push them to what a full on rain tire would be capable of, and definitely provided more cornering stability on the street. the bfgs were super mushy, the nittos were noticably less than a regular street radial, but never left me feeling like my car was going to flip over any second now.
i thought mickey thompson made some radials in our sizes no? i havent looked. those bastards hook.
IF you have the suspension to use them the BFG's will certainly hook better, but you have to be able to utilize them. if your c5's suspension is pretty much stock, you arent even close. they are almost a waste.
