99 six speed issues
Boss has a 99 6 speed and its popping out of reverse
what could be the issue,
First, his kid has been driving it and he isnt a good shifter. I wonder if he has been doing stupid stuff and screwed up the shifter or trans??
or , is this a common issue and easily fixed??
I have a A4,,,WITH A rpm trans,, I have no problems,

The easiest thing to do is the shifter alignment. If it continues popping out of gear after that, then its time to contact RPM Transmissions or similar for some re-work of the tranny. Since he's got a '99, one slight complication is that it is possible that he got a BorgWarner transmission from the factory. My '99 did also but none were supposed to get those old ones. If he did get one as I did, hopefully he did not allow anyone to put in Mobil1 trans fluid into it like I did too mine... it cost me dearly.

This is the most likely culprit. The PLASTIC reverse fork pads wear/break and the syncro ring will not engage the gear all the way and it grinds.
