Low Voltage message displaying on my DIC
I was driving yesterday when the LOW VOLTAGE message appeared on my DIC. It appeared after driving the car for 30 + MINUTES.
The voltage meter is usually around 13 to 14. After the message appeared the voltage meter was displaying as low as 11.4.
I left my car at a friends house and when I picked it up this morning it ran fine, with the voltage ranging from 13 to 14.
Earlier yesterday, I noticed that my dash light were occasionally dimming, and even more so when I turned on my headlights. So something is wrong, but I dont know if its the battery, the pully on my alternator, or the alternator itself? The car starts right up the first time every time, so I dont THINK its the battery. But something is obviously wrong.
I need help figuring out what is wrong: Do I need to install a different pully on the alternator to make up for SLP upgrade - thus allowing more power to get to the alternator - or do I need to replace the alternator?
