Is there anyone out there who had their car powerloaded with original gears (3.15's) and stock torque converter then went on to 3.42's and Yank 3000 converter? Understand the shifts will loosen up if I don't reprogram the powerloader but how much actually? Would really like to hear from any members who may have gone down this road, upgrading gears and converter without reprogramming.
Not that I won't spend the money to reprogram, but if the wait is to long can I drive the car with all changes except the reprogram?
I had the pro torque 2400 installed before I powerloaded..You can definitly drive the car without a problem. With the converter while accelerating it seems as if you just have 1 big gear, you can hardly notice the shift points. With the power loader you can definitly tell where the car shifts  . Dont know about the gears though. I sent my powerloader back for a heads cam reprogram about 1 week ago, we'll see how long it takes.
Any time you change gears, you must reprogram (adjust shift points) the Powerloader. I had the P/L, 2.73 and stk converter, upgraded to P/L, 3.42 and PT-2400.
You don't want to drive the car with larger gears unless the PCM has been programmed :nono: The speedo calibration will be off and the outshaft speed sensor(oss) will not send the correct signals to shift properly.
