I recall past threads that said the oem air bridge is more than capable of handling horsepower well over 400hp. People change them for the "bling" which is fine if form over function is your goal.

Some over sized air bridges may interfere with your hood insulator and/or how well your hood closes. After market air bridges also do not have the ears to secure the air bridge to the radiator cover. So, the air bridge and air cleaner assembly weight is just hanging from the throttle body.

I think it was LINGENFELTER that used the oem air bridge in his cars.

You can improve the looks of the oem air bridge with paint or decals.

I tried one of the more rigid silicone couplers on my car. It's length needed to be "adjusted" so that everything fit.

I got rid of it and bought the SLP coupler with the bump. That didn't need to be cut and the bump allowed for just enough flexibility like the oem accordion coupler. I don't think it comes in any color other than black though.

Default Stock air bridge

If you measure the cross section area of the stock air bridge you will find that the squeshed middle parts area is still larger than what it connects to at each end.
