Default Headlight motor problem

Tried to manually raise headlight on my C5. It just won't budge. Is there something I can do? Help!!!

Did you try turning the **** the other way? I know it sounds stupid, but simpler things have caught us all. Anyway, if you tried it both ways, several turns of the **** and it still didn't move, then the gear is stripped inside.

Thanks for your reply. I've tried both ways. I've seen post on removing the headlight assembly from below. Is that the only solution at this point?

It's not necessary to go from below to remove it. One my last headlight repair I had to pleasure of having to remove and replace it 3 times due to my poor epoxy jobs on the cover before I got the support brace. From the top I can pop the hood and have the motor out in about 15 minutes start to finish, got some good practice in.

When you turn the **** for the headlight try lifting onthe front of the headlight to help the gear work. If it's totally stripped it might nto work but my gear was only worn on the teeth that are constantly used, the teeth on the other side of the nylon gear were still in decent shape so if you just keep turning and turning the **** you should eventually come across some working teeth.
