Question for the technical folks.
Supercharged 1993 ruby
Crane HI-6tr ignition
Same car I have had alot of problems with but finally fixed almost all of them making it a pretty reliable car... until now.
Problem:
Car starts, drive down the road, fast, no problem... As SOON as I let it rip or find just that right rpm/throttle amount.. Car drops all RPMS and dies leaving me on the side of the road.
I try and start it back up then it turns over with no starting. (a couple times the key does nothing not even turning it over).
I just put a new ignition coil on it tonight, car felt more power but problem still happened first time I let it rip.
But then, after you turn it off, scratch your head for (variable) amount of time, the car will turn over and start right up... and wait for my next roadside desitination of fun/high blood pressure.
Questions:
Is the rock of the body during the thrust pushing some loose wire around, or into a ground position?
Is the ignition module above the coil a possible suspect?
Where do I start?
