Hood Insulation, I have a 2003 50th anniversary convertible corvette and my hood insulation is falling apart around the edges does any one know where I can fine a new one or a good used one. I need just your basic stock one nothing special it makes me crazy seeing the edges lifted, while I am standing there looking at my nice clean engine compartment.
do you really need the insulation under the hood? Does this not hold heat in the engine compartment?
I'm pretty sure they have insulation from the factory for a reason. perhaps it protects the hood/paint from the heat. idk. I bet someone here will have the right answer
I went to the GM Parts House web site and they are listing the insulator/liner (at least for my 2000) at $85.94 plus $8.95 shipping (UPS Ground) did not go through the full check out so dont know if shipping would have changed, but worth a call to them to verify.
