hey guys, watched a ton of videos + had 3 cammed cars, all of my cams have been decent sized with tight lsa's 111-112
take this car for example, how does it have this "rythim" to the lope? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_uNPS0jY8o
you can tell around 2:00 in the video its hot, and still has that chop, chop, chop sound? my cams are always just all over the place
Who did your tune? Maybe she needs a little tweaking. I've also had three "cammed cars" and they all sound similar to the video, the "rythem" is there. I've noticed that the bigger the cam specs with a 111 or 112 lobe tend the have more of a 'rythem" as well. My cars have all made between 400rwhp and 430rwhp. The higher the output the better the sound no matter what exhaust your running. The vette in the video sounds bitchin!

Try having it tuned again.
you can have a cam on a 114 like I do, and make it sound like its on a 110 with HPT. it falls into a lope at about 40 second from a cold idle

The newer generation of LS* cams seem to be migrating to this style of lobe profile and separation that causes this type of rhythmic cam lope. I personally think it sounds like crap. Reminds me of a Harley Davidson "potato potato" type of sound.

ya that's how mine sounds, it sounds great, but no "rithym" to it,
i'm not sure if i agree 100% with johnny hardcore, i think its got alot to do with the cam. that cam in the video i posted is in sync. thats what i like, at least when i get little tid bits of it. maybe if my idled exactly the same constantly i might get sick of it !! ??

Yes, it is the cam. I like the more traditional cam sound, if your sounds like the car in the vid that I posted, consider yourself lucky. That is what a cam should sound like. The car in the first post sounds like it has a miss.

Don't get me wrong, the cam does make a difference, but the tune has a lot to do with how it sounds/runs as well. If there is a "miss" the rythem will be compromised. The lobe seperation will also make it more choppy but it with be rythmatic in sound. Mine have all had a rythem to them and don't have that chop becase they have all been average in size. Current cam specs 232/236/114. My 228/228/112 had a more choppy rythem but the sound was nice.
The vid of the vette that backs out of the garage sounds bitchin. Notice the specs on the cam. This is not your granpas cam in that thing. Thats a big cam making that beautiful music.
I think they sound better when they are bigger. I just wish I would have been more aggresive in my last build.
