Can anybody Identify these Headers... who makes them, and are they any good????? I just picked them up really cheap, and I am hoping I got something worthwhile. They are for a c5 ZO6
Not a bad system overall, was a very popular and expensive system in '02-03 era. (hope you got the complete system, not just the two headers).
Main weaknesses are they are made of mild steel and ceramic coated, so their life is determined by how well the coating holds up. They will quickly rust where ever the coating is compromised.
The bellhousing mount tabs are also well-known for pulling out, leaving a nice and ill-sounding hole in the tube...don't use those mount points, they are redundant anyways...cut those tabs off.
Also the V-band clamp connections...while nice and HD and good for sealing the connections, they are also quite large in dia. and become the low point of the car, and you can catch them on speed bumps. Replacement clamps aren't cheap.

So any suggestions on what to do with them? I don't care if they are "old school" as long as I get good performance out of them. Should I have them recoated or something?
I have that system and yes a bell mounting tab broke off on mine. Muffler shop fixed it up for $40. I am happy with the system and the v-band clamps work great and I have never hit one on a speed bump.
If you need replacement clamps, shop around and a decent price can be had. The system should have come with high flow cats, off road pipes and an x-pipe.
Come to think of it, if you need some clamps - i have some new ones I can sell you - I bought extras by mistake and missed the return cut off date.
