Default fuel injection do not work

Hi,

I was asked to send email (by Bill)

info logs attached

1*scanner

1*editor

1*faultcodes

hints:

with the new PCM the cooling fan runs for 1 second

with the new PCM fault code: egr voltage too low. do not have that code with the old ecu, I had 3 other different code's with the old ecu. weird?

the old and brand new ecu have booth the same service nr on the alluminium housing.

I am 99% sure that the first time I tried to "read entire VCM" it went OK up to step 5. It had reading problems. I saw that the VCM editor also tried to read the ECU normal mode(not high speed) and after a few tries it stopped.

extra info for your college:

The old PCM had code p0601 "ROM error". Your college wasnt't sure if I could get working again with the vcm editor.

I deactivated the fault code with the VCM editor, code was not present anymore, so that worked OK, but unfortunately engine did not run.

Therefore customer bought new VCM at chevrolet dealer in the US.

Would be great if can help us out today, customer getting unpatient, you guys know how that works.

Try disconnecting the battery for a minute to reestablish comms...the pcm in the vehicle sounds screwed up though from the looks of those infologs, it has a 99 C-series van vin number & no operating system...something just doesn't add up in my opinion.

william, dont think that will help but OK. the battery and pcm have been on and off for many times.

99 C-series van vin number & no operating system

do you mean it is a refurbished pcm?

Sorry I'm from europe, dony know what it mean but I think you try to explain that the pcm is from a certain chevrolet "van", no corvette.

No operating system

doesnt say me anything.

I can solder out the flash-eproms and copy the file from the old ecu in the new ecu.

But prefer not to open the new ecu because of warranty.

Only if its the last method.

Are you sure the immobilizer can be defeated? Or do I have to bring the car to the corvette dealer anyway. That would suck.

Sorry for asking again.

Look at the vin in the infolog you sent, google it. It comes up as a 99 C-series.

infolog also shows no operating system ie it reads 0 which is normal on 97-98 corvette pcm's however the vin number is giving me different, conflicting, information as to what pcm this is from.

Its doubtful its some immobilizer issue.

Hi,

Battery off/on did not help.

So programming the flash eprom directly won't help you think.

Bringing car to the vette dealer to reprogram immobilzer wont help neither right?.

Another New PCM ? or buy used one?

I would say a dealer pcm flashed with YOUR vin & YOUR operating system would be your best bet.

I suggest a PM to Bill Curlee here on the forum. He's the best person to help you with this. I'll try to have some ideas here, you replaced the PCM for whatever reason and now the car won't start, along with showing codes. First, was a Tech 2 scan tool used to program the new/replacement PCM with this car's information, in the car at the time? If not, you may need to do two things. One being, run the security re-learn process. The PCM and BCM share a hidden password between them and they must match for the car to start. Second, you will need the Tech 2 scan tool to program in the RPO codes into the PCM for that specific car. Usually this is done at a dealer. Not sure this helps you or not.
