I have a little noise from the rear end but does not change when rocking the vech side to side . I put the vech. in the air and checked the rear wheels for side to side play and have just a touch of play in the right rear. I guess I will change both bearings while I am there . My question is do I need anything special as far as tools to get the knuckle off , dont want to hit it with a hammer so whats the easiest way to get it apart. Should I use GM bearings or another brand , any help would be great and thanks in advance.
This link should tell you everything you need to know about replacing the outer rear bearing. When mine went bad, I would get a louder whine on the side that had more force on it. So, a left curve in the road would make the right side noisier
It was an easy job, hard on the knuckles so wear gloves! Also you will be sitting indian style most of the time. The person that wrote this did a great job.
