I have a fuel leak at the crossover from the left fill to the right side. I've heard from someone this might be a common problem. Any advise on this is greatly appreciated. I'm not sure how to remove the tank. I stopped until I could drain the tank, but I welcome any help solving the problem. My car is an '04 Z06. Thanks. Ed
I had to have mine replaced ('04 A4) in 2006. The plastic feedneck on the driver's side tank was out of round and weak where the crossover plugged into it. Unfortunately, you've got some work to do.
This is just to update and a +1 for GM. My '04Z only has 14k miles and the tank needs to be replaced due to the leak at the crossover. Believe it or not the price is $2000. After talking to Chevy nat'l help center and telling them this is my 5th vette, and I'm a loyal owner, their goodwill plan picked up all but $700 of the charges. Seeing they didn't have to help at all, I'm thankful.
I have logged on to safercar.gov and filed a complaint about this serious safety issue with the NHTSA. I hope you all will also before someone gets hurt in an explosion, not to mention to emmission issues!
I and another member both recieved calls from the NHTSA today, seems they are very interested and want your stories, pics and or parts! They have already opened a file so keep hitting them up guys and maybe something will be done!
